Brian Dunn

Brian Dunn is the CEO of Growth Capital Services, (member FINRA, SIPC), a firm he founded in 2001. Growth Capital Services provides regulatory infrastructure for affiliated private placement agents, enabling them to conduct securities business legally and efficiently. Dunn also uses his network to find and evaluate investment opportunities for a select group of private equity investors.

Previously, Dunn co-founded Aquillian Investments, a leading investment advisory firm oriented towards ecosystem integrity. He learned the craft of investment banking at Tennyson West, a boutique capital advisory firm located in San Francisco, where he worked on private equity deals in the natural foods and clean tech sectors. Previously, he served as the first Executive Director of Investors' Circle, a socially minded angel investment group that has invested in over 150 ventures since its creation. Dunn spent his pre-graduate years working in micro-finance development in Burkina Faso, Brazil, Haiti and Mozambique.

A born adventurer, Brian has worked and traveled in over one hundred countries and all 50 states. Now settled in San Francisco with his wife and daughter, he plays bass in a local band and swims in the San Francisco Bay. He is proud to serve on the board of Save the Bay, a 50 year old organization that protects, restores and celebrates San Francisco Bay.

Dunn earned his MBA from the Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania, an MA (Economics) from Johns Hopkins University, and a BA (International Studies) from UC Berkeley. He has FINRA Series 7, 24, 27, 39, 63, 65, 79, and 99 registrations.

   
Amanda White Amanda Brown, Member Services Manager

Amanda has over 15 years experience in business leadership, project management, strategic planning, marketing communications, staff training, and representative support.   She focuses on customer service, standardizing policies/procedures to provide continuity among internal processes, and creating enhancements in operational efficiencies and accountability.  She is dedicated to continuous performance improvement and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements governing business practices. She has FINRA Series 82 registration.

Amanda earned a B.S. in Nursing with a Psychology minor from Edinboro University of PA, and holds a management certificate from Wharton Business School.  Her hobbies include reading (primarily mystery novels and legal thrillers), finding new adventures from ziplining to spelunking to scuba diving, and jogging in Marin County, where she resides.

 

 

Tom Kennett

Tom Kennett is a Senior Adviser with Growth Capital Services. He has over 30 years of experience in securities, investment management, banking, insurance, and management consulting. He served in roles as CEO, COO, CMO and CCO of companies ranging $20 million to $20B annual sales, retail and institutional platforms, domestic and international markets.

Before joining Growth Capital Services, he was Director of Sales at Niemann Capital Management, Managing Director/Pacific Region at Response Compliance & Regulatory Services, and Distribution Compliance Director at MONY/AXA Financial. He also served as VP marketing at Delaware Capital Management; SVP and National Sales Manager at Spare Kaplan Bischel/RDY Investors; Senior EVP of American Savings Bank; Regional VP of Guarantee Savings; and as financial adviser at Smith Barney.

He holds FINRA 7, 24, 39, 66 and 79 registrations and is a former Certified Investment Management Analyst and Investment Adviser Certified Compliance Professional. A former high school All American swimmer, Tom competes in US Masters Swimming programs and enjoys hiking, climbing, kayaking, lifting, chess, and backgammon for blood. He has a degree in Philosophy from the University of California at Irvine and an Alternative Dispute Resolution Certificate from Purdue University.

   
Beth Goolsby Beth Goolsby, Executive Assistant  

Beth has spent the over 15 years experience helping businesses run efficiently. From marketing to administration and bookkeeping, she looks for creative ways to solve problems. Outside the office, Beth is a painter and shows her work in galleries in the Bay Area.

   
Scott Blumin Scott Blumin, Technology Initiatives Manager  

Scott advises on technology strategy and supports the Growth Capital Services compliance infrastructure.  He has forged a diverse 15-year career path in areas such as Sports Event Management & Operations, Program Management, Project Management, IT Services, and Sales & Marketing. During this time Scott has worked with the Fortune 100, federal, state & local governments, as well as small and mid-market companies.

Scott is the Founder and CEO of Scoja, Inc., a technology strategy and implementation consultancy, based in San Francisco's Financial District.  A Los Angeles native, Scott holds a B.A. in Political Science from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and lives with his family in San Rafael, CA.
   
Lou Dalrymple Lou Dalrymple, Associate  

Lou assists with business development efforts and sales outreach.  Prior to Growth Capital Services, he worked with NETCIRQ, LLC, a secondary direct advisory firm focused on helping founders, VCs, Angels, and other shareholders of venture-backed companies achieve liquidity through facilitating the sale of their private stock.  Working directly under the founder, Lou was integral part of all stages of secondary direct transactions spanning numerous industries, including medical devices, clean technology, software as a service, and consumer web. Though his primary responsibility was managing the firm’s proactive deal sourcing process, he also had significant exposure to deal structuring, negotiation, marketing, and company analysis. 

Prior to NETCIRQ, Lou interned with a variety of financial services firms, ranging from M&A advisory to various areas of investment management. Notable experience includes UBS Financial Services, Inc., where he helped support a three-person team of advisers managing nearly $400 million in assets, and Harris Williams & Co., a leading middle-market investment bank. 

Before moving to San Francisco, Lou attended Vanderbilt University, where he was pursuing a self-designed major in Financial Economics, Entrepreneurship, and Technology. He maintains an active lifestyle comprised of running, cycling, yoga, soccer, squash, and racquetball. He is also a classically trained bassist and enjoys San Francisco’s live music scene.  He has Series 7, 66 and 79 registrations. 

   
Sheryl Evans Sheryl Evans, Creative Designer    

Sheryl has over 28 years experience in many types of design, including graphic, web, app, illustration and marketing.  Through her studio, she also offers photography, and coordinates with her established partners to provide print management services and mailing logistics. 

Sheryl gained experience as an Artist at Raytheon, working her way up over 15 years into the position of Supervisor of the Art and Photography department and Proposal Team Leader.  She then worked at Fresenius Medical Care USA as the Senior Graphic Designer. Her final stop before launching her own company as a full time business was at Laddawn Inc. where she worked for 11 years culminating in the position of Senior Marketing Creative Designer.

Sheryl is the Creative Designer/Proprietor behind Evans Studios, a graphic design business founded in 1986 as a part-time venture, launching as a full time business in 2007, serving businesses of all sizes in a variety of industries both locally and globally.  Sheryl attended Assabet Valley where she studied Art, Retailing and Marketing, and The New England School of Art and Design where she studied Graphic Design and Illustration.
